it happened to me yesterday..when I tried to connect using the dial up connection..
when I clicked on my dialer, it automatically connected to the internet, but when I opened the IE or Outlook Express, i got disconnected immediately..
I dunno what happened? can anyone tells me why?

Did you call your ISP???
Maybe they are having issues?
Does your username and password get authenticated...or is there an error.
Any thing new installed...that would take hold of your modem??
More info..such as OS, and errors received would REALLY help!!!!

EDIT
Just read your other post Surf Control...and you say you have DSL...???
I am confused

Maybe your modem is dropping the connection due to interference..can happen on your phone line or from your cpu (win modems come to mind)
Hardware\software info would really help here

Yes, it's possible:
On TWO PC's, if you have DSL on your system, and you STILL have the dial up connected as well ........................
I did it [through lack of knowledge] online with DSL, and system would hang every time the phone rang. And connecting up via dial-up, [don't ask why, I'm as confused as you are] just did not work at all.
Solution: remove the dial-up modem, store it safely [in a few years it will be a museum piece]
If your DSL fails, get another one.
If you DO have TWO PC's: Network them ....... router plan A: DSL for the masses:
remember to store the old modem safely in the bottom of the garbage sack.
so now I'm in my SIXTIES FFS
WTAF, how did that happen, so no more alterations to the sig, it will remain as is now
