Thread AntiPoints in Cosmos?
I'd like to put up a vote on Thread AntiPoints in Cosmos. The question is simple: Do you think Thread AntiPoints should be allowed in Cosmos?
I'm sticking with the "no personal AntiPoints in Cosmos", but it might be a good idea to allow users to assign AntiPoints to threads. Any thoughts?
I'm going to set this poll to expire in 5 days, and whatever option wins is how it's going to be.

I don't see anything wrong with APs being assigned in cosmos. I like to be able to award pos APs when a user adds something useful or interesting to my threads, I also like to have the option to neg someone who does NOT add anything useful and clogs the thread with nonsense.
Just my 2 cents.
PS... yes a lot of the time the thread is nonsense to start with, in this case I tend to simply ignore it.
I have a question; are you the bug, or the windshield?

As long as threads don't get hit (pos or neg) for political opinions it doesn't bother me.

i think you can assign AP on cosmos and **** chat, but they should dont count for the AP system. Maybe just to kill threads. this is sec forum and "other" forums doenst matter

That's the entire point, cacosapo: with Thread AntiPoints in Cosmos, people could indeed kill threads, but nobody's AP total would change.

Here's my problem with this, so correct me if my understanding is off the mark:
APs are supposed to reflect the poster's knowledge/skill, right (not that they do, they should)? That's why we tend to encourage APs for technical posts and not GCC or Cosmos.
However, the above two arguments seem to suggest this is not the case, and that APs simply reflect how good a contributing memeber the poster is, regardless of professional ability.
As I understand it, though, we oughta keep APs outta Cosmos, as it has nothing to do with security or even anything technical.

Thread AntiPoints in Cosmos would reflect how good a thread is. Nobody would gain AntiPoints, nobody would loose AntiPoints, just like it is now.
The option to neg threads rather than users is there, so my question is: should it be allowed in Cosmos, yes or no?
Here's the Site Suggestion on Thread AntiPoints.

What do APs have to do with security anyway? They are here for us to rate a person, or thread. They allow us to be able to control how its outcome here will be. As for Security, or NON-Security related threads, is that not why we have Cosmos and Chit-chat?
I have a question; are you the bug, or the windshield?

Holy moly, Gold Eagle, long time no see. Negative, have people neg and green away... no big deal.
