why are members being banned?

I have noticed that some "older" members some with lots of greenies and 500+ posts are being banned! why is this? i was just curious thanx bye.

Well,

This question does come up rather often, so I will attempt a comprehensive answer:

1. The site does not operate like a golf club, you know "full" members and "country" ( part time) members.
2.There is no "retirement plan" you are either a member or not, so if you ask to have your account closed, the only way to do that is to ban it.
3. Some members broke the rules:

a. Multiple accounts
b. Antipoint alliances
c. Posting pornographic images
d. Abusing other members
e. Publishing their member password
