    Somehwat old news (couple days)

The Apache Software Foundation and The Apache HTTP Server Project are pleased to announce the release of version 1.3.33 of the Apache HTTP Server ("Apache"). This Announcement notes the significant changes in 1.3.33 as compared to 1.3.31 (1.3.32 was not formally released).

Quite frankly anyone not running the 2.0 series by now is quite out of date anyway.

I personally think the sooner they deprecate 1.3.x, the better

Unless you need mod_perl (which I believe can be made to work in 2.0.x with later versions of the module), you should be using 2.0, as slarty said. 1.3.x only provides security fixes for people who haven't migrated to 2.0 yet, a process which will probably take until the end of next year at least.
