Speed up menu display
This has probably been mentioned before .. however I couldn't find it ... maybe because I didn't look very hard. This tweak isn't for anything other than looks. It means you don't have to wait the .5 of a second or however long it is before you see the menu come up when you are navigating the start bar... it is also very basic and anyone can do it .. as mentioned earlier .. it is very old.
1. Start Regedit (or your favourite registery editing program)[If your afraid you might F%$k up your registry you can back it up]
2. Navigate to the following "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
3. Now select MenuShowDelay on the right hand side
4. Right click on it and Select "Modify", change the value to "0" then reboot your computer.
Now when you go to the start menu and navigate through it the submenus will come up instantly

I do exactly the opposite. I increase the value to 65534. It makes the
menus only respond when clicked, and stick until the next item is
clicked. I can't stand those menus flickering on and off by themselves.
I came in to the world with nothing. I still have most of it.
