Favorite Quickies and Acronyms
Ok, there are a ton of these, and they've been shared between geeks since before it was called 'the Internet' in Vice-President Gore's feeble imagination. But I'd like to get a comprehensive list of them, so let's start here!
PEBKAC: (Problem Exists Between Keyboard and Chair)
I D 10 T: (This is a spoken joke. You say "eye dee ten tee", but when you write it out "ID10T" it obviously becomes 'idiot'.)
STFW: Search The F$cking Web
RTFM: Read The F$cking Manual (Man page, for us UNIX purists)
"Data is not necessarily information. Information does not necessarily lead to knowledge. And knowledge is not always sufficient to discover truth and breed wisdom." --Spaf
Anyone who is capable of getting themselves made president should on no account be allowed to do the job. --Douglas Adams (1952-2001)
"...people find it far easier to forgive others for being wrong than being right." - Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore

This circulates quite frequently in e-mails amongst friends and collegues (a couple of them truley fit the description, so dont get all worked up )
SUBNET errors
Stupid users breaking networking, erasing things
Came up with this one in response to this lady who kept on erasing AOL from her computer, then wondered why she couldnt "click that little connect thing like I do at the office". It happened a good 3 times before it sunk in. This was back in HS though.
