Maximum AP assignment
To limit the abuse of senior members over the AP system, I suggest that any members over 3000 AP (Or choose your own number) is max on is AP assignment. Some users like me have way too much power on a given thread. (I can suicide in a thread a thread without pain).

Why not use the percentage feature? 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% ?

I think the point that SDK is trying to make is that this is left up to the discretion of the assigner. And in some cases, even with the reduction it can be a heavy hit for those top 5 on the APs list.

I sense there is something going on behind the scenes here. I will bow out because I can see that the question is not here for the purpose of being answered.

I don't really think it is even fair to size the power of a member who holds 15.000 AP to the power of a member who holds 5.000 AP. Makes no sense, doesn't it?
Senior members are really fully aware and have discretion when it comes to using AP. If they are not, they were not suppose to be seniors. I haven't witnessed any abuse... I don't know, I might be still newbie.
As I said, it is not quite fair to do that.... This makes me feel like living in a socialist country.... Socialist and communist forum.. I won't like this at all.... as we will strip of {Size}the power of the oldest members....
just my thoughts

Out of Topic ::
It would be nice if AP's would only be allowed to be given in certain forums (exclude : Cosmos , Addicts , Product Book Reviews , Tech Humor , GCC ....etc )
As for posts they should only count in certain forums as well ...

I think we should just leave the AP system alone and concentrate on the security/computer side of things.... APs has been done to death

I agree TH13...this topic came up as a result of the issues between SDK and gore more than a general suggestion for discussion.
BC...just to make a point...being a senior doesn't equal maturity ( abuses do happen )...just as education doesn't equal intelligence ( some of the most educated people I know are dumb as doorknobs )...but, as I said in the other thread, I think the members do a good job of maintaining a balance.

AntiOnline - IS this where AO has come
It is kinda over-kill to be able to AP someone more than a green dot ( 100 points ) but gore obviously deserved what he's accumulated otherwise he wouldn't have them...so he ought to be allowed to use them.

"this topic came up as a result of the issues between SDK and gore more than a general suggestion for discussion."
I dont believe that .... What bothers me is how people seem to know that the AP system is being abused and no one gives a damn ... How sad ...
"I will bow out because I can see that the question is not here for the purpose of being answered." True and just like every solution which has been given to make things more fair it'll just be tossed in the " Who cares as long as I have a lot AP bin."
