    There's been a little talk on quantum computers and computing lately and I've posted on this subject before...so...for those who are interested...

    Yeah quantum computers may be the reality but it is does not seem to happen in the very near future. Only theoretical background has been made as far as DNA Computers and Quantum Computers are concerned but still technology has to improve a lot to make this a reality.

    I was under the impression that DNA computers have already been made. The main problem with them is that synthesizing DNA is _expensive_.
    Is there a sum of an inifinite geometric series? Well, that all depends on what you consider a negligible amount.

    DNA computers are very good a carring out simple tasks millions of times. I think they are parellel computers.

    Synthesising DNA specific to your task would be quite difficult but when you have the molecule you need it is quite easy to replicate it with TaQ polymerase kits.

    It's difficult to grasp a working quantum computer. In fact, if we figure it out we could use any object as a computer. This desk for instance and I could transmit the information to unknown parts of the universe, although trasmission isn't a real good decription, it would just happen. In fact I don't have to do anything, that is already being done. For every measured event here in my office, there is another at some uknown location is space time. To quote Bill.... "ack, pfft"

    Requires a bit of openmindedness, no?
    Once every person comes to realization that they exist in their own personal reality and they directly and indirectly affect every aspect of their known existance, including other peoples lives, then we will be closer to a unilateral understanding of universal consciousness.
    There are many rewarding oppurtunities awaiting composure from like minds and great ideas. It in my objective to interconnect great things.

    It requires more than a bit of open mindness. I don't buy the universal consiousness bit though, if anything quantum mechanics is universal unconsciousness. Random equations driven by probability. On the extreme end, infinity improbability.

    No doubt the concepts of teleportation and string theory are related to quantum mechanics in physics. But the thing which this thread is intended for is latest in computing technologies. Quantum mechanical phenomena/equations/principles are behind the development of quantum computers but there is a long road ahead yet till one gets to the destination.
