I like Richard Morgan right now. Altered Carbon was his first published book.
I liked Alastair Reynolds first few books but his last couple have been a bit crap. Now I'm getting into Neal Asher's Polity series.

Morgan, I also enjoyed The Mists of Avalon tremendously. Very good book.
It really depends on the day and what my mood is what my favorite book is. I love them all!
Today, I'd say it's Beach Music by Pat Conroy. However anything by Anne Rice, Pat Conroy, Dorothea Benton Frank. I love southern writers. I love supernatural books. I love all books really, but those are at the top of my list today.

Duncan Falconer - First into action
Andy Mcnab - Bravo two zero
Matthew Reilly - Contest, Temple, Ice Station, Area 7 and Scarecrow
I'm not entirely sure about the order but it is probably close to being right.
