I am probably wrong, but I always had the impression that "addicts" was to allow members to discuss things outside of the view of guests and very new members who might be skiddies?

This might be either purely site related so of no interest, or potentially sensitive stuff about exploits and vulnerabilities.

I never thought it such a big deal, to be quite honest, and I don't see what changing things will achieve. I think that right now we have some rather more pressing site (security) issues?

Not sure what it was, if i remember the member that found it (SDK?) maybe, i'll PM him to give you more detials, it was basicly you could see parts of posts when seraching for things in Addicts or something.
