Just a loose idea here that Steve resuccitated....................
I've nothing against a flame war in the appropriate place
Maybe we should have a "Flamewar Forum?".................it would possibly remove some of the boredom/tension/frustration from other fora?
Sort of " go there at your own risk" and it would have to be adult only?
A thought?

Yeah, and I could mod it.
Rule 1) No profanity.
Rule 2) No personal comments
Rule 3) Everyone must be nice to each other....
Seriously though, I think it would add value, if you wanted to flame a tec/sec thread you could simply start a new thread in flamewars and add the appropriate link to a post in the original thread.
And seriously, it would require a mod, and yes I'd like the job.

May I add :
4) no AP points may me giving or received in the forum ..
But then adding a flame war forum wouldn't that make the site look a little skiddish ??? Like shouldn't people be able to solve disputes in a timely and reasonable manner ??? Instead of having to go around bashing someone just cause they disagree with them ??? Maybe I am just living in a fantasy world ???
That's just my 2 cents ....
B.T.W. having a flame forum in my opinion is just asking for trouble .... I could see plenty of trolls popping up degrading the site more then it already has been ...

Gotta go with Agent_Steal on this one. Not only would it be skiddish, but thread counts would go through the roof. IMO

I think we need some fresh topics. I'm tired of the same types of threads popping up over and over. I rarely reply to anything anymore. But all things aside, this is still my favorite security forum. And I too am against the flamewar forum. Someone was telling me about a forum site that was just for flaming people. It's a good idea for them, but not for us .

Flames are part and parcel of life on the net, get used to it.
However, a flamewar page would be bloody good fun

I wanna mod the flamewar forum, so I announce my candidacy with the following rules platform:
1. Profanity is acceptable.
2. Feel free to attack personally, but understand you will be reprised upon by the person whom you're flaming and his friends.
3. No wankers.
4. No wimping out and trying to use AP's to make up for your obvious lack of intellect. No use of AP's whatsoever within the forum.

Firstly, allow me to apologise for my old mate |3lack|ce ..............being a humble Navy chap he does not realise that "APs" are anti-personel mines..........like wot us grunts do?
You do not have to scrub anti-personnel mines off the deck each day?
