virus scanning after uploading files?
hi
we have a web site form that allows internet users to upload files to our server.
Can i know, how can i implement virus checking of these files?
1) Activate the virus scanner once it is uploaded. but how?
2) Store the uploaded files into a directory. schedule a job to scan the whole directory using a virus scanner..?
3) any more suggestions ? thanks

It would much help if we knew what software you're running.

You would need to run real time virus protection on that directory.
Also, it would be good to lock down the permissions on the upload folder...

i would surmise that u could filter out certain file types as well that could be potentially deleterious to ur server.
