Prisoner of islam!
So where's the liberation?
In Afganistasn a man is about to be tried for his life in blatant violation of every human rights mandate ever declared by any civilized socity.
It isn't a matter of christianity for he would be charged with this "crime" even if he were to become an atheist.
This man has NO freedom. He is a prisoner of islam and we're condoning it.
this years dhimmi award goes to...(whos responsible for this fiasco anyway?)
Man faces death over Christianity

A MAN detained by police for converting from Islam to Christianity could face the death penalty if he refused to become a Muslim again, an Afghani judge said today.
Islamic sharia law proposes the death sentence for Muslims who abandon the religion. Afghanistan's new constitution says "no law can be contrary to the sacred religion of Islam".
Supreme Court judge Ansarullah Mawlavizada said the suspect, Abdur Rahman, was arrested after members of his family informed police of his conversion.
He would be charged with abandoning Islam, Mr Mawlavizada said.
"The prosecutor says he should be executed on the basis of the constitution," Mr Mawlavizada said, who added that Mr Rahman could come back to Islam.
"If he does not ... he will be punished," he said.

I don't even know what to say about this one...how was this allowed to be put in their Constitution when it was created? Was their even any right to prevent something like this in their Consitution when they were liberated? In any case, I think the world has another dead-man. Damn, that sucks.

That's their way of life/religion. It has nothing to do with being liberated from rulers. Seems to be a very harsh standard. Either this way or die.
cheers

Didn't the US, assist in writing up the constitution, I thought they did, so that women/girls would be allowed to attend schools. I am sure this was one of the requirements of the US handing over the reins to the Afghani's, that the women/girls would have their basic human rights returned. So how did this one get missed???
This still smacks of Taliban, and the harsh rules they imposed on the people of Afghanistan, how long have we been there now almost 4yrs, and we are no closer to their achieving a secular state then when it began.( I have always believed that to make these countries a democracy as we know it, is not going to work, too many "Tribal" problems)
This sharia is what the radical Taliban used to control people, we are currently having problems in Ontario where the Muslim communities want to be able to impose their own interpretations of local laws, in other words, using the sharia over our bill of rights or provincial/federal laws.
So far the Feds and Provincial Government are standing firm on this....for now..

Many many many moons ago,
We were really concerned about the communists slipping into our countries and slowly taking over. That never really materialized. However it has with the Muslims. Now everyone will have major issues in the future.

Don't remember who said it but...Power corrupts...Absolute Power corrupts Absolutely. In a civilized society religion no longer serves a purpose except to enlighten...there is no reason whatsoever for religion/ideology to have anything to do with government...
Another wise man once said anyone who wants to be in power should never have it...and he who wants no power should it be given to him.

Me Mum....
No actually, it was probably someone who understood the need for checks and balances in Governement, and this is one of the reasons I will always believe that for a government to operate unbiasedly is too be secular, if you allow your faith to blind you to reality, then those decisions you make, are your own and not the "majority", or of those who elected you to power, which in a 'Democracy" is all people's, all religions/faiths.....

Hi,
Trial judge Ansarullah Mawlazezadah told the BBC that Mr Rahman, 41, would be asked to reconsider his conversion, which he made while working for a Christian aid group in Pakistan.
"We will invite him again because the religion of Islam is one of tolerance. We will ask him if he has changed his mind. If so we will forgive him,"the judge told the BBC on Monday.

Is he really Serious or what ............ so much for the Tolerence ........ Convert or Die
