edonkey no more?
Tried starting up edonkey just now to receive a message saying "The edonkey network is no longer available. See edonkey.com for further details." or something like that. Then the program started up its uninstaller and poof its gone!
I visited edonkeys site and the download link is also dead.
Ive searched google for similar stories and found the similar problem has happened to others.
I guess thats the end for the donkey then!

try e-mule instead, since e-donkey client was full of adware anywhere. e-mule network is alivem and still a good way to get *nix distros (as an alternative to FTP or BT)

I second that reply...
emule is superior to edonkey in download speeds, reliability of results, availability of options and configuration. Make sure you forward the right ports log get HighID on ed2k network and get rid of “firewalled” statues on kadmilia network.
For that matter any newb you needs help configuring emule (amule for linux) pm w/ a thread.

This has been going on for about a year or so. News links here:

There is also an outstanding case against Limewire, so I guess they will be the next to go?

w/ the advent of bittorrent encryption / TOR network & Kadmilia networks RIAA & MPAA can go #$%^& themselves.
It's so funny to see these corporate organisms squirming while they die slow death. It reminds me of the spider wasp.
