Google buys Youtube
Google just bought Youtube for 1.6 Billion dollars. Seems like a good buy to me but I think the price is a little much for a very popular yet unprofitable company. My question is what is to become of "Google Video" and all the videos on there?

Re: Google buys Youtube
It's not about money. Google has plenty of that and will continue to. Power, recognition, competition--it's all about those. Google video did well for a little bit, but YouTube definately has been wuping all others thus far. Kind of hard to take over the virtual world if the masses have a superior alternative, no?

Heard somewhere on the news lat night that youtube never made a dime, but the staff (all 67 of them will retain their jobs Lol...) 1.6 Billion spread over 67 = 23.8 Million (and change) a piece....not bad.
