Moria, You are correct that that brute forcing is difficult for large 128 bit encryption.... easier when using a distributed computing environment.
Anyways I should not have used "encryption can be brute forced". A more appropriate description here would be to say that once I have gained access to both keys pairs, I will then have access to your data.

OK maybe ... but I assume both key pairs are on my computer here, yet I don't think anyone could access a pgp encrypted file very easily. You'd have to know my password! I accept there are insecurities with version 8 but the same vulnerability doesn't exist in gpg or version 9.
