Unfortunately they are almost a necessary evil. We probably don't want to block all the Search Engines just to have the guests go away. Or do we....lol

Nah, I know it's necessary. It's even welcome, we just wish they didn't hit SO hard as to have the site timeout. But that seems to have stopped for the moment

i thought we had 'em not showing in the online users list since they were really cluttering up the member's list.

We did, but I had to enable them again so we could get a good idea of how hard the bots were hitting us. It's relevant. You can filter the return with the dropdown if you don't wish to see 'em
