The "Which OS are you running?" Poll

Just curious what you're running. I'm especially curious on those running Vista--are you running 32bit or 64bit? Feel free to explain your vote if you'd like. I've allowed for multiple votes for those that dual boot and/or run multiple machines.

I'm currently on 64bit Vista Home Ultimate, but I'm not sure if I should revert to 32bit, since I don't have any 64bit app's to run. Not sure if there's a benefit at this point, so what does everyone think?

I came out the womb knowing C. By age one I had started coding my own GUI, by five I had mastered virtuality. When I was twelve I could use my OS to code pure matter.

Gee, I got several boxes, but for everyday use I'm running Debian Sarge because I
gave away my Slackware box to my seventeen year old daughter (she hates it, but
it's good for her to suffer). I have two more on slackware, seldom used, one on Solaris
and one Windows XP. My wife left in October, and took my favorite, a PIII running
win98. Man that was a sweet machine...

I couldn't choose all of the OSs I use.

Linux by choice, Win XP & Win2000 by profession. Hell we still have some dos, WinNT boxes at the plant.

I couldn't choose all of the ones I run, which are: Linux for most day to day stuff (Ubuntu specifically), Windows XP for when I need to test websites and use Paint Shop Pro, plus playing the odd game and OS X on my Powerbook for when I want a laptop which is light and "just works" (especially with wireless, which is something that Linux still has to get right).

I use linux and only linux,
my box is dual-booted two distros of linux, suse & slack
laptop triple-booted suse, slack & backtrack, it has a windows xp home partition that came with it preinstalled (no office suite)
to make it worse i dont even mind to boot it.
i use slackware 96% of the time, suse is great when you have something you want to work out of the box, without tweaking. Although with tweaking things in slack you can get it better than any distro, for example IBM HDAPS (harddisk active protection system) i couldn't get to work out of the box with suse, which i had to do it manually with slack.

I run all sorts, but that is just me......... in the real World it is XP, 2000, ME/98x.

Yes I do DOS, RISC, and a variety of Linux, but that is not mainstream here.

Perhaps you should have had a business/pleasure criterion in you poll?

wiped my personal computer and put vista 32bit on it. I was doing it to learn more about vista to support it, and also to see what kind of problems vista had. So far, so good. No problems except minor driver issues, drivers needed newer versons that were available on vendors sites
