Transferring data like printer connections and DHCP reservations from/to Server 2003
So .. I have a Win2003 server and I need to transfer some server-and-suchlike data to another one (because it's getting replaced). For now, what I need to know how to transfer is DHCP reservations and network printer installations.
Any help is greatly appreciated

Maybe it has "Files and Settings Transfer Wizard" like in Xp/Vista?

I'd suggest that if it is a server you are better off setting them up again from scratch. Just my 2c's

WolfeTone, sure, I wouldn't mind, but setting up DHCP again means I have to type the name, IP address and MAC address of each computer -- quite a bother and a waste of time! The network printers are quicker to install, but still.

Eh, ya don't have to type all the addresses again, just set up the clients to obtain the settings automatically from the DHCP Server of the new Server.
On each client, ipconfig /release followed by ipconfig /renew

Printer Moves
1.) Export the printers from the registry. HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Monitors\Standard TCP/IP port
Select other type Monitors if you use ones other than the Basic TCP/IP ports.
and export HKLM\System\CurrentControl\Set\Control\Print\Printers
Also export the shares for the printers from
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\lanmanserver\Shares
2.) Connect to every printer on the old server to the new server, this will copy the printer drivers for you.
3.) Import the reg files you created from step 1. Then Reboot.
4.) On the new server, delete the printer connections you have to the old server, but do not delete the new printers.
DHCP Database Moves

W2K3 makes it a lot easier than W2K did. You just have to do netsh dhcp dump > filename.txt on the old server and netsh exec filename.txt on the new server.
Good Luck.

There is definately a way to transfer settings between windows servers.
step one is tweaking AD (don't ask me what, I wasn't watching closely)
You bring the new server onto the domain.
AD transfers most settings over
You demote the old server.
Bonus to this method is that both servers actually retain settings so if the new server goes belly up you can plug the old one back in with little effort.
If the world doesn't stop annoying me I will name my kids ";DROP DATABASE;" and get revenge.
