I'm a Pats fan and have been since before they were crushed by the Bears in Superbowl XX. It's been a long road of saying maybe this years then maybe next year. This went hand in hand with my support for the Red Sox. In recent years I've had to look elsewhere for my masochistic fix.

Americans discussing "football"? hah! we cannot allow that.

Tell me folks, what actually happens over there?

    We have this scenario:

    WINTER:

    1. Soccer.
    2. Rugby Union & Rugby League.
    3. Hurling
    4. Irish "football"

    SUMMER:

    1. Cricket
    2. Tennis
    3. Softball

Apart from that I can't remember, or was never involved.

I am not just interested in the "professional" side of things............ what about official stuff in schools & colleges?

    Just curious,

I have actually been watching a little bit more college football [that is futbol americana de universidad Nihil] ... I am actually liking it a bit better than NFL... these guys aren't playing for money... they are just playing to win. seems to up the intensity level of the games... I am deep in UGA territory, and for days after the Saturday games, people are still barking at complete strangers... that part is sort of embarrassing, as it were... but the overall enthusiasm towards college ball is energizing to say the least. My good friend/neighbor is a huge GA Bulldogs fan, and it is starting to rub off... Sorry to start talking about college football in an NFL thread... I blame Nihil that and the drink ..

Hah! but at least in "soccer" only one member of the team is allowed to touch the ball with his hands whilst it is in play............ the rest have to use their FEET as the name of the game implies?

Well we named ours for a different activity. It's named after 2 body parts: the one players use to "kick" with, and the location other players GET "kicked".

Let's stay on topic with football guys. =D

Korp: GB def isn't best in NFC. Dallas could outscore them. The defenses are about the same, with GB having a slight edge.. but Dallas is like the Patriots when it comes to scoring. Dallas could easily beat GB, and we'll see that this week. Meanwhile, my team (The Eagles) play the worst team in the NFL in Miami. Chalk up a win for Phila! =]

I think against a rookie QB, NO running game, NO defense, and NO good WR's.. IN Philadelphia, against a winless team.. the Eagles will definitely win.

Long-suffering Detroit LIONS fan here, just checking in. Good year so far, but if we can't pull off a win at home vs. the Giants this weekend, the season is pretty much over for me.
