Forget Cloverfield, Live Free or Die Hard...

Recently learning that we can discuss movies lol...

What does everyone think about the new Die Hard movie?
ie how it portrays "computer people" and how the world is ran mostly off of computers, etc... I thought that they did a very good job in getting the small details down

at least "Matt Farrell" wasn't cracking over the phone lines using MS-DOS =)

Edit: clever little anti H word...

personally I don't watch those sort of films to see what OS is in play
I like the BruceW planning scenes

    "so, what's your plan"
"I'm gonna go there, rescue my daughter and kill everyone else"
    "THAT'S your PLAN!!!"

also you might just have noticed the latest anti H word filter in place, doing a wonderfully unobtrusive job
so now I'm in my SIXTIES FFS
WTAF, how did that happen, so no more alterations to the sig, it will remain as is now

hacker ... just had to try it to see what people were talking about...

When I watch movies like this, I try to focus more on the action/storyline... if I pay attention to the technical details, I find myself being too picky...

I think Die Hard 4 did do a good job with the technical computer details. But do you know which movie did a better job????

Seriously? I haven't seen firewall, mainly because I am not the biggest fan of his work (although his career is the only one not ruined by Star Wars lol...) If hollywood actually does do a good job, I will have to rent it.

Agreed, Die Hard 4 tends to cause Cloverfield memory loss.

"Computer people"? Everyone uses computers. And anyone who doesn't see that by now needs to get in touch with the rest of society. And even with that said, I think everyone needs to be introduced to sites like howstuffworks.com

although his career is the only one not ruined by Star Wars lol
That's a pretty dumb statement considering Carrie Fisher is probably one of the biggest writers out there. Yet alone, these movies both defined and made George Lucas and his companies. None of the hundred or so background characters had a career to ruin anyways. And speaking of starwars...

I thought the guy hanging around Bruce Willis' character was a very annoying and pointless character. Infact, Jar Jar Binks had more relevance to starwars than this guy ever had to this movie. I wanted to stomp his face inwards. The action was rather watered down aswell. It probably wouldn't have been as bad if there was actually a nice movie villain in it... instead of these splintercell nerds and some vietnamese lady.

No....The Wolfman is not serious with this one at all.

A friend gave me his copy of Firewall yesterday because it was so *bad*.

I'm going to watch it this some time this week. I will let you know if it's any good. But I suspect it's going to be a bad movie.

I thought firewall was good. Now a question about Die Hard 4 - was actually happened in that movie, is it possible? Speak your mind !

The-Spec I said "computer people" because we have a clever little filter put in place that replaces the H word with something else! (after 3 posts I am surprised that you didn't know that)

Also, I believe Harrison Ford is an actor, not a writer...
(since I was talking about acting careers, she would not apply)

The character I think your talking about is Justin Long, who's role was to help a not so technology smart guy (Bruce Willis) fight the bad guys who are...
So his role was pretty essential in this movie.
    thanks for your thoughts though!

Seeing as to how the movie actually had a good point, the world today is being more and more reliant on computers to run things... For instance if you take a look at the latest issue of Wired magazine, we are on the verge of having computer controlled cars! So to answer your question, possible yes probable I don't think so...
