When I was young, THE two electric guitars were the Gibson Les Paul and the Fender Stratocaster.

My best friend has two Fender Jag-Stangs, the Kurt Cobain Guitars, very nice by the way.
I don't have a guitar at the moment, but for basses I stick to Ibanez. The price VS sound makes them the AMD of Bass.
Of course, there is something better... The Devastator, and the Anihilator. The Guitar and Bass custom made by The Misfits. I'd chop off a testicle for one of those. Not sure who's, but I'd chop one off.
