Latest Obama controversy
Does it matter? or does he have the nomination in the
bag because people hate Hillary so much?
Wright's assertion from the pulpit that the U.S. government invented HIV "as a means of genocide against people of color"? Wright's claim that America was morally responsible for Sept. 11 -- "chickens coming home to roost" -- because of, among other crimes, Hiroshima and Nagasaki? (Obama says he missed church that day. Had he never heard about it?) What about the charge that the U.S. government (of Franklin Roosevelt, mind you) knew about Pearl Harbor, but lied about it? Or that the government gives drugs to black people, presumably to enslave and imprison them?
Obama condemns such statements as wrong and divisive, then frames the next question: "There will no doubt be those for whom my statements of condemnation are not enough. Why associate myself with Reverend Wright in the first place, they may ask? Why not join another church?"
But that is not the question. The question is why didn't he leave that church? Why didn't he leave -- why doesn't he leave even today -- a pastor who thundered not once but three times from the pulpit (on a DVD the church proudly sells) "God damn America"?

Well RC...
I would say yes. I have always held the opinion that we are defined by our words, actions, and associations. Personally I find it hard to believe that Obama did not have foreknowledge of his pastor's opinions and preaching style.
As for people hating Hillary in general. I haven't asked anyone about that, so I can't form a good opinion. Granted I do not like either Hillary or Obama's political positions, but even I do not hate them. Being pretty much a conservative kind of guy; I'm not really in favor of either of the 3 democrats that are running for office.
The mentally handicaped are persecuted in this great country, and I say rightfully so! These people are NUTS!!!!

Its a sad state of affairs that we have 300 million people in this country and this is the best we can do.
Hillary.... Its time to throw in the towel. When you can't win the white male vote in the deep south over a black male its time to reflect that people HATE you.
Barrak.... distance yourself from anyone who is negative and you'll coast to the office because the other two have so much negative baggage that the best they can do is find you dressed in a silly outfit or dis a preacher you have heard speak.
John... give it up. Your own party doesn't like you. Even Ann Coulter said Hillary was more conservative and would have her vote over you. People don't agree with your stands on Iraq even if your own son is serving there. Do you expect him to carry you into the White House? Running on his service.
What ever happened to Elizabeth Dole? Jack Kemp? There were a bunch of promising rising stars and now we're stuck Bush or Clinton family dynasties.
Even Richard Nixon would be better than what we're being offered. He would declare Iraq a victory, pull the troops and let the Iraqis determine their fate.
Maybe in a another 4 years....
