I hate when people claim they don't want to use firefox for that reason--seriously I don't even know why people still use IE--what is so hard about switching to ff? there is no learning curve involved, it is safer, more customizable, and faster!
I would have used Firefox up intil people like you started advertising for them.

Hi kingkong,
I know I've had times when clients are in a Microsoft shop and I've had to provide Microsoft solutions, but that's not to say that I can't act like a punk and make stupid anti-Microsoft comments
A mind full of questions has no room for answers

ok, spec...that's wonderful of you to have an opinion--as do I
It was just a suggestion (albeit too forceful I admit).
I apologize for being a raving open-source lunatic ,
but I think trying alt. browsers like opera and firefox is a wise decision.
Oh, I'll advertise for them all I like thank you very much

I agree
Opera is a wonderful browser, not to mention the most secure--but I can't live without the firefox extensions.
I apologize for the aforementioned propaganda, I just get a little worked up when it concerns certain monopolies

Hi AO's
as above,,
Well Guyz I Think this argument does not have solution its a individuals choice of FF , IE , Opera , etc , etc
Well then i would rather ask a question why dont all of them use linux Operating system instead of windoes, OS/2, Unix etc etc etc..... as it is more secured...
why not MAC because it is more customizable...
This arguments are never ending...
It depends on each individual how why he wants to use (as each individuals have their own mentallity)
regards
KK
Question is not "Why are you Online"
Question is "Why are you Off line"

have u tried ie8, yea i know its still in beta mode. but it cant hurt to try. at least its an ie, and u get the option to emulate ie7 i havent had any problems with it. as far as security goes, as long as u have a firewall like zone alarm or a good antivirus that has residential scanners like avast, you'd be fine. heck i'm using windows firewall and avg, and i search the web a lot, and i still dont have a virus yet. of course i use mcafee site advisor which helps alot.
u can find all that stuff here http://filehippo.com/ hope this helps

Hmmm,
so i went over and repaired the operating system (Windows XP Professional 2002 version )
That sounds like a problem.................IE7 requires SP2 as I recall, and that wasn't released in 2002, more like the back end of 2004 I think?
EDIT:
SP1 was released September 9th. 2002
SP1a was released some time in 2003
SP2 was released August 25th. 2004
If by "repaired" you meant reinstalled then I am not surprised that you had problems because you would have lost all your cumulative patches/updates. In particular you would have lost SP2 that you need for IE7.
