Active Directory - C++, batch files, perl, etc

Question, I want to know where to find commands or header files that'll allow me to link programming languages with AD operations through the command line. A book would be awesome, or a cool online source with syntax and the like.

i.e. I want to know here , or how I can descend into OU's and change user properties and put in a C++ program, etc. (if that makes any sense)

Try Visual Studio 2008 Express (free). .NET has tons of support for AD. VB.NET is a good starting language for those new to .NET
