Aw **** it! It's Monday morning and I really don't want to do any work. O.K.

Way back when I started a post about a troll. All I wanted to point out was an acceptance of worthless posts here at AO that, just months earlier, would have caused immediate perma bans.

OMFG! did that thread not go the way I thought it would.

Well now things started getting a little wierd. Spec had management up in arms (God that was some funny stuff - from this side of the browser anyway) Lots of global mods were added. I think. Anyway Catch had retired (Thank GOD IMO) and was still negging the hell out of posts. For that he was banned? That's the rumor anyway.

Ah then the upgrade. Still a work in progress, or the sub pages are just going to be left untouched? Who knows, who cares? Seems to be the attitude.

By this time Tiger and Horse were probably the only seniors that actually made a living in the security field; directly or indirectly, and still posted here. Then those two just started showing up less and less. Except of course when Tiger would get bored and post how windows was so much better than *nix. (Some of us used to bet on how fast it would take Gore to respond).

Well we're past the upgrade and whenever someone asks What's up - what changed, where is everyone? BOOM! Thread closed or out right flaming, it was just very "good ol boy clubbish".

One lady started a thread asking who's still here. Nihil bashed her immediately - probably having a bad day. So another senior member gone. btw that lady happens to work for the NY City Police. Cyber crime and all that. Good move?

OK what else? So I start another thread about the changes here and what could be done. I offered my help, pointed a few things out. Tried to keep the thread on topic the best I could.

I really wanted to know if AO was no longer a security site, what did the majority of people want it to be? In the end. JupMedia said it would pay for tuts as long as legal documents were signed and the tut itself passed a rigorous set of conditions. Anyone want to guess how many tuts have been submitted and posted?

meh this is just turning into a rant. BUT If I ran this board here is what I would do:

Anyone who bitches and moans about the MODS - Put up or STFU! Be a Mod, be an Admin. Try it, then bitch. Until the STFU or be banned.

Where I spend most of my online time is somewhere I enjoy. I like the people and the type of environment. If you don't like it leave, and if you keep bitching - perma ban!

JPNyc made a point of AO is a corporate owned site, whereas where I hang out is privately owned. And that's OK. But if anyone wants to do something that could be considered illegal, immoral, or for the most part kinda STUPID. Quit bitching that you can't do it here on AO. Keep whining and - yup you guessed it PERMA BAN.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled bitch fest.

Oh yea to answer the OP's original question:

Yes AO has gone down hill. For many reasons that I have tried to address in the past, to my detriment.

Peace ya'll I Attacked the border router of a small island country over the weekend, gotta go see what's what.

Disruption from what? The thread with 300 replies about why AO sucks posted by the people who only come on here when they see a thread saying it so they can add the "yea me too" IQ point reply and how they're leaving right after they finish saying mods are all big meanie heads and it was cooler when AO was owned by a porn star?

Or the two threads about security with 3 replies because everyone is busy reading over the gossip of the anti-inquirer and who said what this time and which old senior who "left for good" came back to say AO still sucks?

Which part was I interrupting exactly? The thread got closed, the everything sucks but I won't fix it people went back to their caves and the guy who posted something about why his network got broken into finally got a second answer.

Yea I could see that being disruptive. Better spank me and take away my birthday.

And what's with this "allegedly" talk? Like "If it happened" "If you planned it" "that you supposedly did for fun" ?.... Dig up some old threads, look for where I did it, find the two or so I admitted it in and see the 4 other replies of people coming in for a laugh saying "yea he got you good". Here's a hint, about 3 of them should be dated April first, which made it more interesting that it still worked considering that particular date.

Or....*Ahem* my associates COULD chirp in with some log files *Finger firmly pointed pony boy*

Some of you may not want to hear this but he has a point. It was the same when I asked for suggestions on how to improve the site. Nobody was willing to let the past go, or precious few. I said I would be responsible for the crew, just to let me know if you see something you think is remiss, but that wasn't good enough. You guys wanted public execution.

LOL! PLEASE tell me you remember me coining "Tiger shark bait" for the ones I did aimed at him! Oh those were good, and sooooo easy. I'd pull up some stupid little post from somewhere and post it about how Windows sucked, and it was like watching the Discovery Channel if you used the member Who's On thing "Tiger Shark - Reading gore's chum post" Like a real one, he'd circle it, circle it, then BOOM REPLY!

Ahhhh good times. Of course some of the numb nuts here would go at me over that thinking I was attacking him, and thought the messages they sent him about me were actually private, which is cute considering he lives 20 minutes away from me.

If we do that public execution thing Joe, can you get me one of those little black bondage style masks the dudes wear before shooting someone in the head?
