    HP battery problems

    Hi all,
i have got HP notebook (HP DV 6355 ea) which i bought last september. I am having some strange problems with its battery. While charging it eventually shows that battery is 100% charge but in reality its not. While discharging it is around 80% it eventually hibernates without any critical battery warning. When i plugin the battery and see the status it shows critical battery notification. I have got Windows Vista Home Edition. I am attaching some screenshots may be they are of any help.

Excuse me, is there an airport nearby large enough for a private jet to land?

How often do you use the laptop on battery only?

When you aren't using the laptop after it is done charging, do you keep the battery inserted?

I have the same laptop and it sounds like the battery ran out of charge cycles. Since I don't use my laptop battery too much, I remove it and use the laptop on AC power only. If that's the case sounds like you're going to have to buy a new battery.

    Buy a new battery...........

Ignore the destructions and fully charge it.............

    Then fully discharge it...................

    Then fully charge it again..................

    That will "form" it.................

/Me............... I wouldn't trust the bloody Chinese to run the Olympic Games, let alone make a battery

    mmkhan,

Buying a new battery will probably be the way to go. But, I'd try to calibrate the old one first just to make sure it's toasted. Also, HP has a battery utility that can record the state of your battery.

    For calibration and care:

    The utility:
    ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/softpaq/sp3...00/sp32299.exe

    Good Luck!

    Hi all,
    thanks for the replies,
i tried the mentioned steps and came to know that battery capacity is too weak so i ordered a replacement from HP as it was in warranty.
Excuse me, is there an airport nearby large enough for a private jet to land?
