Microsoft deny Devsta was defaced by crackers.
Microsoft has denied that their Web site for the DevSta coding competition was defaced by hackers, stating that some entries were simply "non-genuine submissions." Given the trite nature of the vandalism it's easy to believe what Microsoft's say. The pictures I included show what amount to nothing more than rubbish postings in a user-submitted area of the site, specifically, the contest submissions.

I saw this on slashdot. I kind of wondered if it wasn't just someone posting nonesense, as opposed to an actually defacement. I only glanced at the article/forum, but from what I remember, they theorized that it was some sort of SQL injection. It looked like some idiot just kept posting the same thing over and over.
