Vehicle Electronics (US)
Anybody know anything about vehicle electronics?
I'm in the process of hooking up some radio equipment in my truck and there's a problem: It's a lease.
Because it's a lease, I don't want to hardwire anything right now. The dude @ RadioShack suggested I just buy a cigarette lighter adapter, wire the radio to that and plug it in.
Will this work?

Thanks

Well yes and no.
Your radio will have power. You'll need an antenna feed if you want to use the radio and then there's that issue of how to get the audio to your ears without some sort of speaker system.
Another solution might be to buy a boombox that could plug into the 12v adapter.

The Dealer is completely out the picture on this one - they made their money. You are dealing with the finance company. Demand that your installer give you back the old radio\tuner and speakers. Reinstall if you want to. BTW, leasing is for suckers and sheeps.

Thanks for the replies.
Radio equipment as in "two-way" therefore not needing to hookup to the car audio, just it's own speaker, which is why I was only concerned with the power aspect.
