    Scanning of Virtualized Apps?

Ok.. so here's a question I got recently. Can virtualized apps be scanned? Thinking of apps that are packaged by the likes of App-V, ThinApp, Wyse Packaging Studio (I think that's what it's called), etc. the traditional way of scanning apps (e.g., looking for reg entry, ports, etc.) wouldn't necessarily work.

But I'm pondering that perhaps there is technology out there I haven't hit into. Does anyone have suggestions/ideas?

You have a link for that? I did come up with one solution and that was to package the scanner's agent with the app.

Ah.. wrong kind of app. Not iPhone/Android but Windows apps that have been virtualized to run on top of Windows XP, 2000, 2003, 2008, Vista and/or Win 7.

I recently encountered a question regarding the scanning of virtualized applications, specifically those packaged by tools like App-V, ThinApp, and Wyse Packaging Studio. Traditional scanning methods?such as checking for registry entries or open ports?might not be effective in these cases. I'm curious if there are any technologies or solutions that can address this challenge. Does anyone have suggestions or insights on this topic?
