I think none is called 'the best' but if you want to spend your money then go for Kaspersky or Avast.

Use Windows 10's "Windows Defender" along with Malwarebytes (free version is fine)

I use Avast on my Windows computer. Reading all these messages, it seems like there are many options, which work just fine. Plus a little common sense and anyone should be fine.

I dont think there is such a thing as one anti virus that trumps them all fully, some may be better but i think there are always trade offs. I go to virus total which will scan a file with at least twenty different anti viruses and there are always hit and misses , not any anti virus in particular falls behind but theres always one that wil pick up something others didnt, sometimes its even a false positive.
