Many companies are creating policy and rules relating to IOT. They may restrict a BYOD network based on the number of threats . In many situations they would not allow AMAZON ALEXA to be deployed on a network. As recently AMAZON ALEXA has been linked to unauthorized recording of conversations this could pose a serious threat to the organization. also there is a focus on security platforms that integrate across multiple technologies. IOT Encryption , encrypting data at rest and in transit is another focus.
