"D," Drive?
Greetings Friends,
I was reviewing my current storage capacity this evening, presently using 116 GB out of 118 GB on C Drive. I used to build my own computers, now however, I am on the path of the laptop. I am using a very nice ASUS. I discovered though, something called, "D," Drive... I am actually surprised that it is there, or is it there. It appears to be hardware when I look it up in settings, though it also seems to be something of a miracle considering it is offering me an additional 931 GB. Is this accurate? Are laptops now being shipped with dual drives?
Thank you for your valuable time.
Your friend,
Raven

Some/few laptops can have two physical hard drives... Most can have a hard drive that has been partitioned.

Sounds to me like you may have a 120GB SSD (solid-state drive) and a 1TB HDD (mechanical hard disk drive). SSDs are much faster than HDDs and are used for the Operating System and Program filess so that they load faster. HDDs are slower so they're used more for general storage for things such as Pics, Music, Documents, etc.
What is the make a model of your ASUS laptop?

Yes, you are correct! I just looked further into this after reading these responses and verified that the laptop does in fact have two hard-drives. (1TB+128G(SSD)). I used to partition my hard-drives when I was a kid, (mostly to mix operating systems), now I just use the quantity as a whole.
Thank you very much for your response!
Have an Awesome Weekend!

After receiving positive responses, I looked further into this. The laptop is an ASUS X550V. It does actually have two hard-drives! (1TB+128G(SSD). Very interesting!
