well d00d.. i fink its time to face the music..
the Project Carnivore will be fully implemented and a "must" once the anti-terrorism act is fully aproved. since it is stated on that act that hackers are potential terrorists. we will soon be banned from posting tutorials on hacking.. tsk tsk..
and hmm not only FBI hires hackers but so as other big companies.. they pay them to test the integrity of their security...
but i dont know where they get these people.. hehe
and i dont think the FBI would admit that they hire hackers since that would be very ermmm.. whats da word that im lookin for.. ermm.. hypocritrical.. hehe yeah.. as they say.. "they are not hackers.. they are computer security professionals.. we dont hire hackers.." hehe heard that a lot of times..

On/Off the subject....
Well... Yes, the FBI does indeed hire hackers. They do recruit them from various entities I suppose you could say such as Defcon as formentioned. It isn't as if the FBI doesn't have a group of programming freaks in their society. Security specialists, but it's obvious that the best way they could defend, intercept, and learn about the activity of real hackers, would be to recruit a few of them. But why? Just to satisfy their needs? Does it matter that they are imposing a conflict of interest, trying to fight Cyber Terrorism with, "cyber terrorists?" Doesn't really make any sense does it. However, that is the way the cookie crumbles. Everyone knows that the government is just as corrupt as anything else.

What I am about to say is probably going to spark some controversy.
Ok the FBI hires over hack meetings etc. about HAL I don't know, I am not sure if the feds where around otherwise I would have known (I whas part of the crew) but Syntegra whas trying to recruite people.
But then again Micro$oft also has many talented hackers working for them and still the OS is full of flaws. Bill Gates himself whas a young talented hacker, together with Paul Allen after school they where sifting through lines of code when they where 15. Then again even if they hire a lot of talent still governmnet systems get ****ed over and still M$ cannot secure their ****. Also Mitnick stayed out of reach by outsmarting the FBI and ****ed over Tsutomu Shimomura's box. A high priced security consultant.
Now these are not things I made up, these are facts.

The FBI are just criminals with badges, they (FBI) have the right to commit
crimes and hide under the cloak of "government work".
Sometimes they are even worst than the criminals,I have much more respect for some criminals than I have for the FBI (none) because at
least dealing with a criminal you know from the start who your dealing with,
the FBI are like sneaky little rats.
I wouldn't go as far to say that the FBI knows everything,if they did than why did 6 thousand innocent people die on 9/11/01 ? .The FBI relies on
alot of its information from snitch ass bitches that get caught and then dont have the balls to do the time like men or women in some cases.
Just because your in the FBI doesn't mean that you are smart that depends on each individual, their are alot of really stupid FBI agents just like their are alot of stupid criminals.
I'd rather be a criminal the pay is better.I know that someone will probly say that "if you commit crimes you will go to jail".the only crimes that people should go to jail for are:Rape, pedefiles should be castrated, people that rob or hurt old people should get life, people that abuse their kids shouldn't have kids and should go to jail, crimes like that should be dealt with.
Does anyone remember the S&L savings and loan scandal ? they got
caught steeling $millions from that bank, peoples hard earned money
and didn't do 1 single day in prison. It just so happens that the criminals
involed in that are the Bush family, thats right the presidents brother
was one of the defendants and now hes running our country.
Thats just one of many, many crimes that are commited everyday by people running this country, senators,DEA,jugdes the list is very long.
Now they want to make hacking a terroist act,now instead of hacker
just "looking around"he might just as well format your drive being that hes gona get life anyway if he gets caught.
The so-called law makers are breaking the laws that they pass, thats because these laws aren't for them they are for us.
Its the classic "do as I say, not as I do "concept.
Police where I live at are constanly getting caught for selling drugs, rape
and alot of other **** and these are the people that suppose to protect us,thats a joke.If you relie on the police to protect you than you either
are a cop or a cop lover because the fact is that the cops aren't worth ****.The fire department are the real heros, firemen are the finest and the
bravest. I count on myself for my protection because I know that I wont stab myself in the back.
Bottom line is that there isn't much difference between law enforcement
and criminals, some criminals get better treatment than others.they call
that "white collar crimes".in other words if you have money and get caught commiting a so-called "white-collar crime" chances are you wont do a single day in prison,BUT if your poor and get caught commiting the same "white-collar crime" your not only going to prison
you will be put under the prison.so it all boils down to ones standing in life.We all cant have presidents for brothers.

Love the Robin Hood allusion, I like to consider myself a modern Robin Hood.

A cat always lands on its feet;
A cat with a buttered piece of bread strapped to its back hovers feet above the ground in a state of quantum indecision

I am not going to ever work for the fbi unless as a subcontractor. I could imagine chasing down this supposed big time internet criminal to find out that you have been chasing a 13 year old. That would make me cry.
Has anyone noticed how computer related the job name "bus driver" is?

As far as the FBI hiring I have no doubt that they do indeed hire many computer experts of every field. I have seen friends of mine get hired in the military as seurity experts. Though the military hires and promotes from inside itself, generally speaking of course.
As far as what Crimina1 said. I whole agree, this society in America is rediculous and I balk at the things that go on in the name of justice. Sometimes I hate the way the overnment acts and the reactive and paraniod legislation that gets passed.
Don't get em wrong though I do love this country. Thats why I was willing to give up many of my freedoms in order to preserve those of the rest of America by joining the military.

Do we smell here some patriotism?
Maybe your right: total anarchy isn't a real option, so does total control. The governement has to be something in between.
