This story has been going on for years. I don't remember where I saw it, but there is a site that shows exactly what it is. I am not saying that the NSA doesn't have backdoor access to everyones computers (just like the V-chip in TV's) but they are to smart to put there name on it. That would be like a carpenter installing a side door in every house he built, and putting his name on the door. They are going to be a lot more subtle then that. Like using the extrnaious code at the end of Internet Explorer ( There is something like 5 MB of code in the IE executable that can be deleted, and barely affect the program).

They had finally provided it true. All of the lawsuits against Microsoft was just a play, something that was planned to point all guns at Microsoft. Now, guess wat? the US government is involved. Someone file a lawsuit against Micrsoft and the whole US government, for billions or trillions of dollars and put all these money into OpenSource for programmers to program a better, fast, more secure, more pravite, Spy free (100%) alternative Microsoft OS!

People often seem to forget that the role of the NSA is twofold. As we all know they try to intercept communications to glean intelligence from them (i.e. comprimising communication/encryption systems of other countries). The fact that they do that has never been a secret (since its existence became public knowledge of course ).

The second role that NSA fills is to help secure information systems within the U.S. This is the role that most people seem to forget about. My understanding of these keys was that when the NSA looked at windows for use in some aspects of its work, they decided that the encryption provided by microsoft wasn't up to their standards (also not a surpise). They therefor wanted these keys as a method of implementing a higher level of encryption to make the system more secure, not as a backdoor to make it less secure.

Long story short, yes the NSA is part of the U.S. intelligence effort and as such tries to spy on people; but their job is also to help protect the U.S. from beind spied on by others.
