Honestly, what do you expect to get for $300? I would wait a while longer, save some more money, and get a brand-name computer like a Dell for $700+. If you're gonna spend $300, I hate to even consider how they got the price so low... As for Lindows, I don't recommend it. It's not worth the investment (at least not at the moment). I would say either stick with Windows more move to Linux. Don't get an OS which does a half-ass job of trying to be either, let alone both.

From my recent posts and my reading coverage of Lindows isn't it still in its second beta testing? I mean, the source hasn't even been released. Why would they install an OS still in beta on a computer you can buy?

I would personally wait until the product is complete and watch the popularity of it. I've heard a lot of crap about Lindows lately. I have made some posts about it, go ahead and search for the posts I've written. I'd rather have a finished product OS with good feedback (hell, I'm not paying for something that's crap) than have something that's only half-assed finished with bad reviews.

Greek.... according to Lindows.com the OS is complete on the Wal-Mart PC's. The lindows OS for testing does not have a complete library for drivers, and it may have problems loaded on a base PC.

and for all that is question the reason behind buying a system for $299. is because if I buy Lindows for $99. and it sux I'm out $99. If I buy a Wal Mart PC for $299, and lindows sux, and I don't want the PC. I can load Windows XP & Office XP & sell it for $400. I'm up $100...... I personally have a Dell Dimension 8100. Pentium 4 1.3 Ghz. 1024 MB RAM. GeForce3 Ti 500 64MB AGP card, w/ DVD & CD-RW. A great machine. I just posted that info for anyone that said I should save up for a good machine.... I already have a GREAT machine....
