Windows media player 9 in windows 2000
Hi
Has anybody here tried the beta version of windows media player 9 in windows 2000 yet? It is designed for windows xp, but I was wondered if it can work in windows 2000, Because I really enjoy using it on my windows xp install and would like to use it on windows 2000.
Thanks for your help

In my experience, yes the Media Player 9 Beta works in 2000, but it is far less stable than it is under Windows XP. You have to realize that WMP 9 is still in testing phase (and any releases that you can download are unofficial, "leaked" versions which may have unknown, adverse affects on your computer). I would recommend stick with your old version of WMP in Windows 2000 until WMP 9 goes gold and is available for download from Microsoft.

Yeah ok, I was rather annoyed that microsoft did'nt ever release wmp 8 for 2000, it makes you stick with 7 unless you get a cracked copy, which I don't really want to use, Do you know if 9 will come out for 2000?
