If we are going to go into this debate about, "is pot right or wrong in the Christian Gods eyes"
then read this.
Genesis 1:11
And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
Genesis 1:12
And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
Genesis 9:3
Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.
==================================================================
And thats all I have to say about it.
==============================================================
Ah geeze, here we are judging the sinners again with unleashed's post. You know with that post, you sound more "Christian" than me.
When will you learn that Christianity isnt about being perfect, but being forgiven.

Thats more than I can say for the countless preists molesting little boys, or the Drug addicted evangelists
This seems odd to me...to criticize others for doing what you do?
When will you learn that Christianity isnt about being perfect, but being forgiven.
To answer the previous question....
However, the one thing most people tend to conveniently overlook....You aren't being forgiven for a sin that you intend to continue committing..it just doesn't work that way. If you ask forgiveness...YOU HAVE TO MEAN IT!!! Argh..how hard is that to understand? Asking forgiveness means you are truly sorry for it, and that you don't intend to do it again.
And yes...Your body is Gods temple according to scripture. Any abuse of your body is a sin, be it drinking, smoking, using narcotics, overeating, promiscous sexuality.....

In all my posts here ( I mean in this thread ) , I didn't wan't to give any idea about the christians and what the guys are discussing because here is 5:30 AM and I haven't sleeped yet , after reading the first 2 lines of your post I realized that in this thread, really you are not going to say anything about christians/Christianity or something like that, just something like whining about your APs. ( your subject syas it obviously )
But you know DR. Toker , you might beleive or not, since I was in AO I can not remmember even I contact a user about his/her assighnment even if the assignment was empty or something like STFU. And you can assigh neggs for me again later, you will win because yours have a lot more value than me. But the small dots are not important for me.
I don't know that I'm a good christian or not , I just try to be a good person, thats all.

Cmon Deb, neither am I a child molestor nor do I use church money to get high. Also, deb, am so not addicted. I smoke pot a few times a week after work to relax. C'mon lets get real.
PS> I will strive to not make anymore "Religious" posts, as people cant help but judge and judge and judge.

I really know better than to post in a thread like this, but what the hell..... I need some excitement today. I'm sure I'll get some negs for this, but I don't care.
And yes...Your body is Gods temple according to scripture. Any abuse of your body is a sin, be it drinking, smoking, using narcotics, overeating, promiscous sexuality.....
In that case, I expect all good Christians to boycott McDonald's immediately. They have caused far more heart attacks than any drug. Come to think of it, the name of God has caused more death over the ages than any drug, too. Heck, it's probably caused more death than *anything*. Maybe we should ban religion and try thinking instead.
I suspect that most Christians who decry the use of marijuana and other drugs are unaware of the moral and ethical circumstances of their prohibition, and it has nothing to do with public health or morals.
Marijuana was prohibited in 1937 because it was believed to be popular among Mexican workers coming across the border during the Great Depression and taking jobs away from American workers. Congress believed that prohobiting the use or marijuana would discourage Mexicans from coming into the country. At the hearings on the subject, the AMA was opposed to the prohibition of marijuana on those grounds and on the grounds that there was no evidence of it being harmful.
Since then, there has been no credible study that has shown anything to the contrary (operative word being "credible."). A few studies purporting to link marijuana to brain damage have been thoroughly discredited as thinly-veiled government propaganda.
Similarly, cocaine was banned after a series of tabloid articles claiming that cocaine caused black men to rape white women and made them impervious to bullets. Shortly thereafter, standard police service revolvers were upgraded from .32 to .38 caliber. Opium and heroin werewere banned after the San Francisco press claimed that white women were being lured into Chinese opium dens for sex. Conveniently enough, the white man's drugs, alcohol and tobacco, remained legal. I wonder how that could have happened......
I don't see how anyone professing to believe in God and love could support laws founded on such blatant fear, racism, and ignorance.
More comprehensive info is here.
For the record, I'm not a Christian and I don't believe in God. I really don't care about any of this, but I think Dr Toker is being ganged up on for a perfectly logical and valid opinion. Go ahead and send the negs.
Do what you want with the girl, but leave me alone!

Well I can support you fully dr toker because you get these so called christians that go to church on a sunday , sit there with there smiling faces but during the week they don't practice what they preach to other people. Yet these are the people who have to teach sunday school to our children.
They sit in church longing to go home instead of listening to the prayer.
I would rather stay at home and listen to the service on a good radio station.
I call them two faced christians.

All I see is another AP wine with a religious twist. I think not bitching about AP's includes the messages contained with them.

Cmon Deb, neither am I a child molestor nor do I use church money to get high.
Hey, you know I know that...however, the first quote wasn't too clear that you were indicating evangelists that use their money to buy drugs. And I certainly wouldn't call anyone a child molester!!!!
For those of you who gave me the negs...the amazing thing here is I was addressing Dr. Toker, and he and I understand one another...lol. You jump into something that wasn't even addressed to you....
/me wanders off shaking her head.....

The Bible does not say that it is a sin to smoke pot, or tobacco,
or to drink alcohol. There is a statement that says that your
body is a temple of the holy spirit, but the context is illicit sex...
I won't go there, but just say that different denominations have
invented a lot of different sins when it suited them, and overlooked
some other sins when it suited them
Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.
[9] Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
