Take a break
Can anyone recommend a program that tells you when you need to take a break from your computer?
Mama always said, keep your virus definitions up to date.

I usually take a break when my eyes start burning horribly, and shortly after swell completely shut.Just for long enough to take a leak and pry my eyes open again.

Under Windows: use the color scheme, if your screen is blue: reboot and watch your clock.
If your screen is black: reboot, watch your clock, and think to sleep.
If your screen is always black even after and during the reboot: reinstall the monster and sleep.
Under Linux: There is not any such indicator, drink a lot of coffee and good luck...
More seriously, I stop when I can't view correctly my screen or when my rock cd stop and that I realize the entire house is absolutely quiet.
Life is boring. Play NetHack... --more--

Why would you ever leave you computer ? Just make sure some food is around.. A fridge and maybe a pillow. That's all I ever needed.
And some belgian beer maybe... It doesn't make you sleep well, but it surely makes your screen unreadable.

Windows: http://www.acrovista.com/alarmwiz/download.html and DL alarmWiz
Mac: http://www.macosxhints.com/article.p...11210201038211
Linux/Bsd: you can also set cron (if you run it) to run a certain file, at a certain time, say a mp3 , or set cron to rm -rf /* shortly afterwards to ensure that you're motivated to get out of bed. You'd best be changing that crontab by b4 it goes off or you'll regret it...
A few restores from tape/CD-R/whatever later, and you'll learn to be an early riser.
