    what I meant is if the US finds the site to be Anti-American or whatnot, why not have it removed, or taken over
    Then you think the site is hosted in the US? I don't currently have neotrace installed, so I can't make sure, I was wondering if anybody else would do it for me. I don't want to go through registry info for the domain, could anybody run neotrace for a sec and tell me where the site is hosted?
    And tyger, you mean only if the site is hosted in the US right???

    it is hosted in canada it doesent have a whois entry

    If it's hosted in Canada, then the site is most likely susceptible to closure by the US.
    Canada is a seperate country to the US, but it does succomb to some order by the States.

    And yes, I do mean if the site is hosted in the US or in an influenced country.
    Had the site been hosted in Russia, I wouldn't fret it.

    I doubt there was any legal action involved. Some one from the government most likely made a call to there isp. The isp decides its not worth the trouble and cuts off service to the site. Happens all the time.
    Its not software piracy. I’m just making multiple off site backups.
