Nyroca,
With Windows you can never be sure about nothing...
Windows it's like a wrong fairy tale, anything can happen in it (but always bad things).
It's not a bad idea to upgrade you video card drivers then.
I start to see that this is that kind of problems that you never know what caused it and how to fix it. So try all you can before reinstalling... or turn to Linux
Good luck!!!
Edit: Have you tried looking for system errors with Norton Systemworks for example?

Nyroca,
Well the differences are relly big... LINUX is much better. It doesn't have this kind of stupid errors Windows have, when Linux have errors they're because it's more difficult to use than Windows (for normal users), more if you don't know anything about Linux. If you ask the rest of the AO members, the majority of them will confirm my words saying Linux is better. I have Linux Mandrake 9.0 and XP in one same PC, and got XP just while i learn to use Linux programs for editing, web development, etc.
It's never too late to change to Linux and start learning it, remember it's open source and its constantly upgrading its programas and fixing its "little" errors.
Bye.

Sometimes in NT4...5...etc.. user accounts become corrupt and the easiest way to solve the problem is to delete the profile and then log in again. You should (create if you have to) a user account with admin rights. Then log in using this account and delete the old profile. Copy out favorites and docs etc...first though. The new profile will be created from scratch (copied) from a default and will in fact work. User profiles are stored in C:\Documents and Settings. Good Luck.

Good suggestion... but one thing missing.
If you have "encryped" anything using XP encryption, you will loose that data.
Well, you will still have it, but you won't be able to read it.
Quitmzilla is a firefox extension that gives you stats on how long you have quit smoking, how much money you\'ve saved, how much you haven\'t smoked and recent milestones. Very helpful for people who quit smoking and used to smoke at their computers... Helps out with the urges.
