D-Link firewall Rules/settings
What should I set my firewall rules for on the d-link?
Here are the options:
Name:.....________
Action:.....Allow/Deny
................Interface...IP range start......end.....protocol...port.....range
source:..... _______...___________.....___
destination:______... ___________.....___....______....____....____
Schedule....always or at certain times
.......................Rules
Action..............Name ...............................Source..........Destination....................Protocol
Allow/deny......allow to ping WAN port......WAN,*...........LAN, MY.IP.IS.HERE........ICMP,8
Allow/deny......default...............................*,* ..............LAN,*.............................IP (0),*
Allow/deny......default...............................LAN,*...........*,*.................................IP (0),*
and if I ever wanted to connect to my desktop remotely would I have to have the firewall off
or could I set up something with a password that the firewall wouldn't block?
Thanks for any advice.

Typicaly you would want to deny everything, then go back and enable the things that you need. The most common is port 80.
