    ICMP=open

    I recently did a port scan and it told me that my ICMP port is open, or the protocol is open. I know that this protocol is used to ping, should this remain open or should I close it? How do you close this port?

    Well, if you're a home user closing ICMP is a good idea. What OS are you using and do you have a firewall?

    Win XP, I have hardware firewall, software firewall(Zone Alarm)
