    Mandrake Linux help...

    I believe I've installed everything correctly (on a separate partition). However, after it boots up I reach a screen without a gui asking for my login and password (which I enter). And all that is left is something [name name@rootname] as a prompt. I've explored the help commands...

    Really, all I want to know is where to go from here to reach KDE's gui. Any help would be appreciated.

    assuming you configured your Xwindows during the install then if you type startx you'll be laughing.... You can go into Xconfigurator and change it so it'll boot into the gui on start-up instead of the command prompt.
