What exactly do you mean?
You mean that your computer froze?
You're pc froze and now you can't boot it?
You're pc stopped recognizing the hard disk all together?
Can you see it in the BIOS?
Have you run any hard disk utilities to find out if there are problems?
Most manufacturers of hard drives offer utilities to check the drive and fix problems if possible.
Quitmzilla is a firefox extension that gives you stats on how long you have quit smoking, how much money you\'ve saved, how much you haven\'t smoked and recent milestones. Very helpful for people who quit smoking and used to smoke at their computers... Helps out with the urges.

Go into your display properties, screensaver tab and get into your power settings. Tell the system to never power down your hard drive and see if that gets you going....I have run across this a couple of times in the past and was able to resolve via that method...something screwy in Windows (real big surprise, huh?) I would suppose.

It isn't paranoia when you KNOW they're out to get you...

Need more information to properly diagnose the problem. But allenb's response seems about right from the information you have given. Although there could be something else. More info and one of us should be able to help u out.
