    Not good I don't think that you can get the files back. I am looking for a free program that might do it

    If you are still using fat32 and not NTFS then you can set your XP drive as a slave and set another HDD with another windows os on it as a master then you should be able to save your data.

    I always keep a spare 30gig drive around in case of something like that. that way you can boot and take whatever you need of the slave. Its worked many a time for me. Im worried that the xp drive is in NTFS im not sure it will work if it is unless they have a second XP drive.
