XP - RDP - Reboot
Not security related; so I posted in general....I've searched all the Windows XP Pro sites and can't find an answer.
Can you restart a computer using XP Remote Desktop ?
(NO....I'm not trying to mess up someone else's computer !!!)

I'm pretty sure you can if you have the right to do it on the local policy. I have a user using a old Win Nt 4.0 Workstation in a conference room who connect to is Windows XP machine using Remote Desktop and he was full right to do what he want on the machine so he could probably shut it down without problem. Problem with Remote Desktop that is will lock up is session on the screen.

Nokia.....Some software requires reboot after startup. Also adding/removing certain printers requires restart. If the software offers the 'Restart Y/N' .... not a problem.
SDK....user/admin has full rights. 'shutdown' is not an option presented during logoff.
I'm still searching for a 'reboot' option.
Thanks for the replies
