    Ommy try doing this open up windows media player and go to the options screen then select the network tab and uncheck Multicast-Udp-Tcp- and http and then select apply that should prevent WMP from coming up when you want to stream content.

    According to Redmond......No way to remove. If you do manage to find a registry tweak (they are out there) be VERY Prepared for other media functions to stop working. Don't do it! Try uninstall of winamp and reinstall. During the install process, make sure you associate all media files Mp3, wav, etc. to associate to winamp. Sorry, no easy fix.
