You may try going to www.nvidia.com and download the nforce mainboard drivers. They include drivers for sound and also the integrated NIC. They usually have drivers made especially for SuSE, Mandrake, and Redhat, as well as source RPMs and source to compile. I've used Mandrake in the past and had it work with the onboard NIC thanks to those drivers. I imagine that with that, and probably the new kernel as well, you can get it going with your NIC. If not, I may as well pass on to you that I've been told Linux doesn't play well with the nforce chipset. I have a computer with a Via chipset and it plays much nicer with my SuSE 8.2 install.
