    Hey buddy...

With no offense we all have right to expres.... If the licence here was Cheap i would be the first one to use ORIGINAL Software and buy licence...

But honestly its not.. i know its bad to use pirated, but tell me were the cost of a Server licence is your one month salary what would you opt ?

Compare $ 3-4 with $ 700-800 and you will know what makes it so hot in here.. i know its bad .. but sometimes you have to risk the dark in order to see the face of light.

Honestly i have paid microsoft a lot bak by telling people how to save on attacks and crashes.. so if i m using it i m payin them in some other way as well... :-)

That is the biggest load of crap ever...

So according to you, since I cannot afford a lexus, It is ok for me to just steal one instead...?

I study forensics, and for every little job that i've done, i've gotten paid very well for it. My last job was to dig out some documents from a corrupted/crashed HDD and with 20-30 minutes of work I made $100, although I was using free software found on the net.

License for forensics tools could go anywhere from $100 to $14,000 for an enterprise edition with 10 keys. That software is not designed for home use, and the companies that would generally use it make around 200-400$$$ per hour of work.

I use a lot of network tools most of which come with Trial versions. I use the trial versions on the jobs that I do, and when I get some money I go and order the full version. Their software is helping me make money and by all means i'll support them....

hum, if you cant afford the prices, just dont use it.
Those software arent a critical issue like a medication that you will die if you dont use. So, its piracy.
For example, instead using a "generic" Windows copy, migrate to a Linux box. You can get a lot of distros for free on internet. I cant accept a production environment, with illegal software, just because the company "cant afford the prices"..... b/s

BTW, I use to hunt down those ppl that use pirated software.

    And im paid for that

Correct me if I am wrong, but I could have swore that the priated version of Windows XP does not allow you to do updates. Well, directly from the web that is using the Windows update feature. When Windows XP first came out a friend of mine had a pirated copy of the software and couldn't update through Windows update. I am just wondering how many people that are running pirated versions of WinXP are still vulnerable to things like Blaster and other exploits that are out there. Just because they can't do a web update and don't know how to update any other way.

Actually you can still do windows update from a pirated win xp box by one of two ways. First is to manually download the files and the second way is by making your computer think it's registered... I believe X-Setup Pro will do that for you.

I don't honestly know from experience though.(I use XP at work (site license) and win2k at home)

You are wrong. You can buy here (on "streets") a full functional cracked windows xp, with windows update capabilities, for $3.

And ive been told that there is a new "crack" to bypass the xp2 "anti-piracy" implementations.

    Sad, inst it?

Why not just use Linux and OpenOffice along with a lot of Free versions of similar tools?

This is a lot easier than using pirated software. Geesh....

SP2 will install no matter if the version is legit or not. As far as the updates, it was only SP1 that would not install.

I knew you could update it by downloading the updates and installing them individually. I guess new things have came out since my friend had it installed on that computer. I don't worry either since I use Debian for most of my computing needs. Unfortunately, I also have XP at work. Lol.

    Hey buddies..

Righto.... again no offence to any one ,In my office i dont let even let 1 system run 1 extra copy of licenced software.. i agree i should not use pirated... and all that :-)

I use Sco and other products including flavours of linux and they work well , but when it comes down for playing with softwares at home i would surely not invest $800 , moreover ..
i know of tools etc. to register and use updates..... but thatz really not important for me ..

" That is the biggest load of crap ever... " .. ...

for you it may b , for me or millions of others its not.. u cant erase piracy from the root and you have to accept it, the world will always have gud and bad , coz they run together, if there was no piracy you would not use licences, if there were no licences at the first place there would b no piracy...

I used it , i will use it and millions of other will as well depending on the need.. dont look at me from your perspective, look at it from my perspective, $4 and $800... i know you are right but i m wrong would be wrong as well.... Windows has earned far more than what they invested on it.. now cant they make it free to an extent ..?

Lets write in these places something more meaningful and knowledgeable to help people rather than talkin on something which is infinite.. I cant be always right , but that does not mean i will be always wrong.

    Regards
    kido
